Tottenham’s season has started in a difficult fashion, with Mauricio Pochettino having to bat off questions relating to his future and plenty of attention being paid to factors off the field.
A 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the north London derby prior to the international break has managed to ease some of the pressure but a return of just five points from a possible 12 is not good enough.
Should Spurs not manage to secure a victory against Crystal Palace this weekend, the wolves will be at the doors once again and Pochettino’s side will need to be effective to get that result.
Fortunately, a trio of respected pundits don’t see that being a problem as they believe Spurs will get the win they need.
You can see what they had to say below.
Mark Lawrenson – 2-0 Spurs (BBC)
Tottenham have not really hit their stride yet, but they are still a good side and it is obviously a boost for them that they kept hold of Christian Eriksen.
This should be a good game, because Crystal Palace are flying high at the moment and have already won at Old Trafford this season.
It will be up to Spurs to break them down.
They didn’t manage that against Newcastle last month, but I think they will have more joy this time.
Michael Owen – Spurs win (BetVictor)
Back-to-back league wins for Palace including a famous win at Old Trafford, but I expect to see Spurs edge a tight London derby on home soil.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost their last home game to Newcastle and let a two-goal lead slip at the Emirates last time.
They badly need to return to winning ways ahead of their trip to Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Charlie Nicholas – 2-1 Spurs (Sky Sports)
Tottenham are finding it difficult to be as solid defensively – they lost 13 league games last year. Crystal Palace won at Old Trafford and played well for it.
Gary Cahill has improved them defensively, and because these things start to develop, you can see them in action.
Tottenham came from behind at home to Aston Villa, they blew it against Arsenal, they got lucky against Man City and they got beat by Newcastle, so it is not looking great at the moment.
It will be another long day for their supporters.
It will be a stifled counter-attack performance from Palace – it will be an awkward day but they will get there in the end.
