The state of the Wembley pitch has been making all the headlines ahead of the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Manchester City this evening.
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL game held at Wembley Stadium yesterday and just 24 hours later s Premier League game is being played on the same surface.
The surface did not look good in photos from the American football game yesterday, and despite lots of work being done by groundstaff overnight, it does not look much better today.
NFL pitches are narrower than Premier League grounds and the area where the Jaguars’ and Eagles’ squads stood along the side has been the worst hit by yesterday’s game.
The NFL logo in the centre of the pitch is still visible, as are some of the territorial lines.
And fans watching inside the stadium and on television on Sky Sports have reacted to the state of the grass surface at England’s national stadium.
Here’s some of the reaction from supporters on social networking site Twitter this evening.
