It is sure to be an interesting summer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has made a point of saying he would be “stupid” to carry on if there was not a plan in place to take Spurs to the next level.
The Argentinian has worked wonders once again, guiding Spurs to a top four finish for the fourth season running and taking the club to a historic Champions League final with Liverpool.
Now in a new stadium, one of the best in the world, focus will be on how Spurs now legitimately challenge for the Premier League title on a regular basis.
Investment in the playing squad, which has seen none in either of the last two transfer windows, is imperative.
Here are the latest Spurs rumours doing the rounds.
Spurs have been linked with a shock move for Nabil Fekir.
The Lyon attacker was set to move to Liverpool last summer but failed a medical due to a knee injury. However, with his contract expiring next year, the French side are hoping to move him on and make some money.
And Le Parisien via Sport Witness claim that Spurs “would be interested” in the 25-year-old, and could be viewed as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen should the Danish international leave this summer, with Real Madrid strongly linked to a move.
Spurs are hoping to land Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon in a £25m deal that will help to prove their ambition to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino has stated his desire to get signings in early so they can be integrated seamlessly into the squad, while Daniel Levy has a reputation for getting deals done late in the window.
Fulham are said to want £40m for Sessegnon, but Spurs feel they can get a deal done for around £25m, with just a year remaining on his contract and relegation to the Championship sealed.
But according to the Mail , a middle ground is expected to be met in the coming days, with Spurs increasingly confident of securing a transfer and Sessegnon wanting to remain both in London and the Premier League.
Real Madrid are reportedly offering Gareth Bale to Spurs on loan for £10m, as long as they pay half of the attacker’s £600,000-per-week wages.
The Spanish side are said to be “desperate” to offload the Wales international after Zinedine Zidane made it clear he no longer features in his first team plans.
And according to the Sun , they are willing to take a huge hit on his wages, covering half of his pay while he is playing elsewhere.
Spurs’ transfer committee are supposedly discussing the possibility of a loan deal, but have no plans to make a permanent bid for the man who left White Hart Lane in 2013 for £86m.
Bale’s agent has stated that his client wishes to remain in Madrid, and he still has three years to run on his current deal. But Bale has been left out of the squad entirely for the last two matches, and will not feature again under Zidane.
Barcelona winger Malcom has a lot of suitors this summer, with Spurs and Arsenal reportedly on the list
According to Sport via Sport Witness , the north London rivals are both considering a move for the 22-year-old, and will face competition from the likes of AC Milan, Inter and Lille if they want to sign him.
The winger would reportedly prefer a move to the Premier League, and though Spurs are listed as interested in the former Bordeaux man, though a move is not said to be advanced.
